ORACLE DBA TRAINING

About ORACLE DBA

It is the relational database management system. The main objective of this is to store, manage and retrieve information efficiently to deliver high performance. It is also termed as RDBMS.

An Oracle database is a type of database developed by Oracle and designed for use with Oracle software. It has schemas and tables, like most other databases, but its structure is optimized to work best with Oracle software.  Oracle consists of various software mechanisms to achieve maximized data concurrency, high performance for maximum productivity for multi users in database environment.

Oracle DBaaS Market Expected to Boom – What All DBAs Need to Do to Prepare!

Few Advantages of Oracle Database
  • It delivers a very stable system for running databases with failover solutions, backups, quick ‘data resets’ if needed, a lot of performance features, being able to be programmed ‘inside the DB’ in PL/SQL and Java
  • Oracle database can handle large volume of data.
  • Implement and support client server architecture means large number of user can access the database.
  • Oracle Database has many supporting tools like rman, sqlldr, oracle administrator manager which helps to improve the quality of product.

Database Administrator is one of the best jobs in the list of TOP 10 winners Job in USA:

  • Software Architect
  • Physician Assistant
  • Management Consultant
  • Physical Therapist
  • Environmental Engineer
  • Civil Engineer
  • Database Administrator
  • Sales Director
  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Biomedical Engineer

As the benefits of Database as a Service (DBaaS) extend beyond those of the “as-a-service” delivery mode, allowing access to a broad range of external data sources to power business processes and augment in-house systems of record, the DBaaS market is expected to grow rapidly in the following years.

  • Oracle Database 12c: SQL Fundamentals (1Z0-061)
  • Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I (1Z0-051)
  • Oracle Database SQL Expert (1Z0-047)

There are two administration exams, one of which must be taken:

  • Oracle Database 12c: Installation and Administration (1Z0-062)
  • Oracle Database 12c Administration (1Z0-075)

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) — Oracle Database 12c

The OCP certification covers more advanced database skills. You must have the OCA Database 12c Administrator certification, complete the required training, complete a course submission form and pass the Oracle Database 12c: Advanced Administration (1Z0-063) exam.

Note: You can pick up more details about the Oracle Database 12c OCP certification in our Best Database Certifications article.

Oracle Certified Master (OCM) — Oracle Database 12c

To achieve OCM Database 12c Administrator certification, you must have the OCP Database 12c Administrator certification, complete two advanced courses, and pass the Oracle Database 12c Certified Master Upgrade Exam (12COCMU). Details on upgrade paths from 9i OCM, 10g OCM and 11g OCM are available here.

Oracle also offers the Oracle Database 12c Maximum Availability Certified Master certification, which requires three separate credentials, including the Oracle Database 12c Certified Master.

Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) — Oracle Database 12c

The OCE Database 12c certifications include Maximum Availability, Data Guard Administrator, RAC and Grid Infrastructure Administrator, and Performance Management and Tuning credentials. All these certifications take the OCP Database 12c or 11g Administrator credential as a prerequisite. Candidates can then achieve Data Guard Administrator, RAC and Grid Infrastructure Administrator or Performance Management and Tuning by passing one exam. Achieving both the RAC and Grid Infrastructure Administration and Data Guard Administration certifications earns the Maximum Availability credential.
