Description:

This is hands-on programming course on Amazon Web Services (AWS), to dive- deep into designing and developing scalable web applications on AWS infrastructure using services like S3, SQS, SNS, SDB, IAM and Elastic Beanstalk. The hands-on labs for this course start with developing sample web application, deploying it on AWS, and building on it to use the services being covered in this course (Knowledge of Java programming language is required).

Objectives

  • To attain a deep knowledge of AWS infrastructure, design & develop applications on AWS.
  • To attain skills to clear the AWS Certified Developer Exam.

Prerequisites

  • This is NOT a beginners AWS class. Prior experience with AWS is necessary.
  • AWS Level-2 course offered by CloudThat Technologies OR Hand-on experience in S3, EC2, ELB, RDS, Auto-Scaling.
  • Prior Java coding experience is required.

  • Review of S3, EC2, EBS & ELB (prior hands-on experience required)
  • Configuring Eclipse to work with AWS (prior Java coding experience required).
  • Review of different components of a web-application.
  • Hands-on: Writing a web application and deploying on EC2.

  • Hands-on: Changing the web-application to use DynamoDB as the database layer.

  • Hands-on: Changing the web-application to use S3 as the file storing layer, and integrating with DynamoDB.

  • Hands-on: Adding IAM based authorization.

  • Hands-on: Change the previous web-application to use SQS as part of the workflow process.
  • AWS Elastic Beanstalk
  • Hands-on: Deploy the application developed using AWS Elastic Beanstalk.

AWS CodePipeline
AWS CodePipeline is a continuous integration and continuous delivery service for fast and reliable application and infrastructure updates. CodePipeline builds, tests, and deploys your code every time there is a code change, based on the release process models you define. This enables you to rapidly and reliably deliver features and updates. You can easily build out an end-to-end solution by using our pre-built plugins for popular third-party services like GitHub or integrating your own custom plugins into any stage of your release process. AWS CodeBuild
